EMV Card Technology

A Small Chip With Big Protection.
Your new City & Police credit card (also called an EMV card) features a dynamic chip designed to better protect you from fraud with the most advanced card technology available.

How It Works.
EMV chip technology enhances City & Police’s 24/7 fraud monitoring process by providing dynamic data for transaction verification that would be unknown to someone who steals your card or card number. Additionally, the EMV chip is more difficult to counterfeit than a magnetic strip.

Use Your EMV Card Anywhere.
Many merchants in the U.S. are still updating their payment terminals to process EMV chip transactions, so your new EMV card is outfitted with dual purpose technology allowing you to maintain the ability to make purchases using  the magnetic strip on the back.

What You Need to Do.
Because your new EMV card has a new expiration date and CVV code, you will need to provide your new EMV card information to any merchant you have authorized to automatically charge your account such as Internet Service Providers, Health Clubs and Bill Pay accounts.
